  Describe a cafe you enjoyed

  You should say:

  what special features it has

what kind of food they offer

  how often you go there

and explain why you enjoy going there

Ok right then, well the cafe that I’d like to talk to you about is one called Feibi Cafe, which is somewhere in the outskirts of the city, just a few minutes’ walk from where I live.

And as for how often I go there, well I actually go there quite a lot, probably something like once or twice a week. Having said that though, it really kind of depends how busy I am. I mean, there are times when I don’t go for weeks on end because I’m simply too busy with stuff, but normally that’s not the case, and I’m there pretty regularly, as I just mentioned.

Anyway, regarding what kind of things they serve there, well it’s great, because they’ve got a really good selection of both Chinese and Western food, so there’s a lot to choose from. And in terms of drinks, there’salso quite a lot on the menu, especially coffee, which you can probably imagine, what with it being a cafe and all. And I tend to normally always go for the Americano coffee, cos I think they do it really well, and so I’ve never really felt the need to try any of the other drinks on the menu.

But anyway, finally then, moving on to why I like this place so much, well I’d say it’s a combination of reasons, one of which would be that it’s really big and spacious, at least compared to most of the other cafes I’ve been to, so you never have to worry about not finding a place to sit. Although having said that, it can sometimes get pretty busy in the evenings, so I usually tend to go in the morning or afternoon. Anyway, another thing to mention would be that the food and drinks there are pretty good-value. Because I mean, most of the Western food there only costs between about 30 to 50 yuan, which is a lot cheaper than most of the other Western restuarants in the city. And the price of the coffee there is round about the same price as Starbuck’s, which some people might see as expensive, but considering the fact that you’re paying for the environment as well as the drink, I’d say it’s definitely worth it.

Oh and the other thing I really like about it is that you can spend as much time as you want relaxing there, without being bothered by the waiters. And the chairs there are nice and comfy, so it’s actually very easy to spend half the day there using the free wifi or doing whatever.

So yeah, I guess that’s about it!

  Notes:

Having said that though =

Although having said that = 不過話又說回來

  something like = about

normally that's not the case = 一般不說這個樣子

  go for = choose

what with it being a cafe and all = 畢竟是個咖啡店

round about the same price = 差不多一樣價格

considering the fact that = 考慮到

  Oh and ......

  comfy = comfortable

nice and (adj.) = 如果你對這個事情很滿意的話,這個形容詞前面可以加一個“nice and..." for example, "the weather's nice and sunny today" / "my bedroom is nice and bright" / "the library is

Describe a cafe you enjoyed

  1.Why do people like café?

The softly-furnished cafes which served tasty and refreshing coffee were a world away from greasy-spoon joints, and actually encouraged customers to linger. Drinking coffee was also seen as a way to emulate the cosmopolitan New York lifestyles showcased in hugely popular sitcoms like Friends or Seinfeld. The popularity of café culture was further cemented by the emergence of the digital age, when laptops, mobile phones, and later tablets, freed some workers from their desk.

2.When people want to have discussion, why do they prefer café to restaurant?

unlike the traditional restaurants, a café, such as Starbucks is what urban planners call a third place, which is neither home or work but a neutral community space where people can meet on an equal footing. A cup of coffee may be a bit costly, you can really rent yourself a pleasant, inviting living room where you can stay for a while and meet with friends or work colleagues. the surroundings are comfy, quiet and laid back where great discussion can happen.

3.What kinds of people would like to go to café?

First of all, The Stressed Out Student. We've all been this person: Cramming for an exam on a laptop, trying frantically to finish a term paper, and chugging so much black coffee that we're convinced the stuff is actually running through our veins. And all so the business type, Like the Time Killer, they'll spend their entire time in the coffee shop tapping away at their phone.

4.Will café be popular in the future?

yes, the café culture emerges in parallel with some big changes in how people live, work and interact. Urban planners speak of a “third place” which is neither home nor work, but a neutral community space where people can meet on an equal footing. And the café is a best choice. In the future, more and more people will consider coffee shops to be their second office/study as they can use the space to relax and unwind, write articles, draft new ideas or improve the existing ones, read, browse the Internet, pay the bills, manage various accounts, maintain blogs and social media accounts, plan the day, eat, and finally enjoy coffee.

Describe a restaurant or a caféthat you like

Describe a place for you to relax (but not your home)

When it comes to a caféor a restaurant that I like, I would like to share with you my favourite spot, the Loffee. It is a small cafélocated right next to my school, and I’ve been visiting this place almost every day since it was open.

The decoration style of Loffee caféis quite simple and modern, with a lot of wooden structures. There are some large paintings hanging on the wall. Apart from selling coffee and drinks, it also sells its exclusive coffee beans and pastries. Every time I walk in the Loffee café, I can smell the coffee, which makes me feel very delightful.

There are only 2 staffs in the Loffee café, and I see them busy all the time. I often have to wait at least 10-15 minutes to order my drink, since there is always a long queue. Luckily, the service in this caféis quite good. They also have limited drinks and food for different seasons.

I often go to this caféwhen I don’t have classes, and I will spend the whole afternoon there, to enjoy some tea and macaron, and to relax. I will also do my homework or read some books there. Apart from me, I’ve got a lot of friends who like to go to the Loffee cafésince it offers free wifi for customers. In addition, the Loffee caféis very popular among our students. There’s no air-conditioner in our classrooms and dormitory, so most students will go to Loffee for the air-con.

That’s why I like Loffee caféso much, and I really hope that in the future there can be more relaxing place like this.

Describe a place that you can read or write

Describe a good change in your local area

例1:以Describe a city 為例。Beijing is a large city. It is the capital of China. Beijing has many tourist attractions, such as, the Great Wall, the Palace Museum, and the Summer Palace. Beijing Roast Duck is very delicious. Peking Opera is amazing. Beijing successfully held the 2008 Olympic Games. …

2: OK, the city I am going to talk about is Beijing. Well, as you may probably know, it is a large city. And um, it is the capital of China. I suppose if I had to describe Beijing, the first thing I would say is that it offers tourists so many wonderful places to go, you know, the Great Wall, the Palace Museum, and uh, of course, the Summer Palace. Another reason to visit Beijing is the Roast Duck, which is really, really delicious. I am sure you are gonna love it! Also, you can’t miss the Peking Opera. It’s amazing!...
