The British RAF base where I was stationed as part of a contingent of USAF personnel had one narrow road winding through the crowded residential area. After a rash of minor vehicle pedestrian accidents, the USAF commander decided to reduce the speed limit to three m. p. h.
Shortly after the new limit was posted, an MP sergeant issued a speeding citation to a jeep driver for going five m. p. h. I was curious to know how the MP had determined the jeep's speed so exactly. "I was jogging to get to the PX before it closed,” he explained, "and as I passed the jeep, I noticed that the speedometer read five m. p. h.”
Little Steve has a pet rabbit, Bunny. He plays with it every day after school. One day his mother sees that her little boy is holding Bunny by the ears. From time to time he gives the poor rabbit an angry shake and says: "How much is two plus two?"
“Steve,” says his mother, "Why do you treat your poor little Bunny that way?"
"Well,”explains Steve angrily,"Our teacher says that rabbits multiply very quickly, but this dummy can't even add.”
Two soldiers were in camp. The first one' s name was George, and the second one' s name was Bill. George said, "Have you got a piece of paper and an envelope, Bill.” Bill said, "Yes, I have,” and he gave them to him.
Then George said, "Now I haven't got a pen.” Bill gave him his, and George wrote his letter. Then he put it in the envelope and said, "Have you got a stamp, Bill?" Bill gave him one.
Then Bill got up and went to the door, so George said to him, "Are you going out?" Bill said,“Yes, I am,”and he opened the door.
George said, "Please put my letter in the box in the office, and. . ." He stopped.
"What do you want now?" Bill said to him.
George looked at the envelope of his letter and answered, "What',your girlfriend's address?"
