First, heading for the large amount of gold or any thick prizes. If it is only the prize that a athlete cares, all he wants is winning. He may betrayal the principle of competition, that is, FAIR. He may use dirty methods or whatsoever to win the game. Then a competition lost its meaning to him. Obviously, competition comes second to him.
The second reason might be testing one self. If an athlete just wants to test himself in a game and see what he can do, he wouldn't care who is the winner or who is the loser. All he wants is only one thing----I CAN DO IT. In a competition, proof of his own ability is enough. Competition does come second, doesn't it?
The third reason will be building bridge with other athletes. That's the saying "Friendship first; Competition second" about. Developing friendship with other athletes may help enrich his personal life and have his sports career become a colorful one. With friends around, he may always feel like a winner himself.
Seeing these facts, we find out that based on many kinds of purpose, a competition is often the second.
Once I saw the TV show, it was about the fathers and their kids having the match, they were separated by five groups and compete for the match. At first, they were competing happily, but as the game came to the end, the last group was so worried. The father inspired his kid to stick on and finish the match, while the kid was crying because he knew he must be the last. After the match, the father told his kid that winning was not the most important thing for the match, the first thing was to enjoy the game and finish it, the result was not that important. I agree with the father, the child must be endowed with the consciousness that to enjoy the game is more important than to win. Every match can only have one win, but we can enjoy every match.

The school festival arrives, the sports is going to come! A fierce tug-of-war is going on in Grade Four!
The players in the wide arena are rubbing their hands, as if itching to drag the opposite side in front of their own face immediately. Look at the students around, all with burning blood, as if they also want to participate in.
Most of our teammates are like bean sprouts, but half of the opponents are heavy, laughing at us with “bad smile”, seeming to bring us down only by laughing! Some of them squat with horse stance, with their teeth clenched, tauten the rope; Some put the rope around their shoulders, sideways, with bow legs, seemingly there are a few large pots of braised pork ribs tied on the other side of the rope.
There is another "heavyweight", simply pulls the rope, sitting on the ground with a butt, with leisurely appearance, seemingly he could not be moved at all even by ten big trucks. The huge physical gap between the two sides is quite obvious. Two "hercules" of us can only pull one of their “fatty” reluctantly, not to mention the "pencil necked"! And sure enough, the "heavyweight" sitting on the ground stands up, turns around, steps forward, an explosion, all of us wiped out!
The second round: we’ve changed the strategy – defensing is the best policy. At the beginning, we only pull with less energy, to guarantee not to be pulled over the boundary line, to leave enough strength to withstand their "explosion". Sure enough, the outbreak comes, at the same time, we also break out! As we expected, the obese guys despise their enemy, coupled with poor stamina, stand off with us for a while, then discouraged, we fall swoop!
The decisive third round finally arrives! "A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit", the obese people don't use brute force, but with balanced strength. Ha, opportunity comes again! Now that you don't do it, it’s our turn! All of us players pull together, with full effort, one, two, three! The libra of victory completely pulls to us in the moment!
We are winners! At the moment, the field is full of applause, merged into the ocean of joy!
我方隊友大部分都像豆芽菜,一半的對手都是重量級!沖著我們“壞笑”,像是笑也能把我們笑趴下!有的蹲住馬步,咬緊牙關(guān),拉緊繩子;有的把繩子繞在肩頭,側(cè)著身子,弓著腿,好像繩子的另一頭綁的是幾大鍋紅燒排骨似的;
