Jack had gone to the university to study history, but at the end of his first year，his history professor failed him in his examinations，and he was told that he would have to leave the university. Richer Allan was so forgetful that sometimes he forgot what he was talking about in the middle of a sentence. His wife has to constantly remind him about his appointments，his classes一even his meals.Since Allan was a professor at a well一known university，his forgetfulness was often an embarrassment. It was not that he was not intelligent，as some critical people，tended to say. He was just very，very absent-minded.

A group from Chicago spent a weekend gambling in Las Vegas. One of the men on the train won0，000. He didn’t want anyone to know about it，so he decided not to return with others，but took a later plane home，arriving back at 3 am.

He noticed footsteps leading from the hole to the house next door，which was owned by a deaf mute. On the same street lived a professor who understood sign language and was a friend of the deaf man. Grabbing his pistol，the enraged man went to awaken the professor and dragged him to the deaf man’s house.
