child---children,foot---feet, tooth---teeth
mouse---mice,man---men , woman---women
注意:與 man 和 woman構(gòu)成的合成詞,其復(fù)數(shù)形式也是 -men 和-women。
如: an Englishman,two Englishmen. 但German不是合成詞,故復(fù)數(shù)形式為Germans;Bowman是姓,其復(fù)數(shù)是the Bowmans。
2、單復(fù)同形 如:
deer,sheep,fish,Chinese,Japanese
li,jin,yuan,two li,three mu,four jin
但除人民幣元、角、分外,美元、英鎊、法郎等都有復(fù)數(shù)形式。
如: a dollar, two dollars; a meter, two meters
3、集體名詞,以單數(shù)形式出現(xiàn),但實(shí)為復(fù)數(shù)。
如people police cattle 等本身就是復(fù)數(shù),不能說 a people,a police,a cattle,但可以說a person,a policeman,a head of cattle,the English,the British,the French,the Chinese,the Japanese,the Swiss 等名詞,表示國民總稱時(shí),作復(fù)數(shù)用。
如: The Chinese are industries and brave. 中國人民是勤勞勇敢的。
4、以s結(jié)尾,仍為單數(shù)的名詞,如:
a. maths,politics,physics等學(xué)科名詞,為不可數(shù)名詞,是單數(shù)。
b. news 是不可數(shù)名詞。
c. the United States,the United Nations 應(yīng)視為單數(shù)。
如:The United Nations was organized in 1945. 聯(lián)合國是1945年組建起來的。
d. 以復(fù)數(shù)形式出現(xiàn)的書名,劇名,報(bào)紙,雜志名,也可視為單數(shù)。

《一千零一夜》是一本非常有趣的故事書。
5、 表示由兩部分構(gòu)成的東西,如:glasses (眼鏡) trousers, clothes
若表達(dá)具體數(shù)目,要借助數(shù)量詞 pair(對,雙); suit(套); a pair of glasses; two pairs of trousers

小學(xué)五年級英語口語學(xué)習(xí)知識點(diǎn)
發(fā)音連讀
Although in written English, there’re spaces between every word, in spoken English there’re always never pauses between words.
雖然在書面英語當(dāng)中,每個單詞之間是有空的,而在英語口語中經(jīng)常是單詞之間是沒有停頓的。
In order to understand spoken English, it is essential to understand how this linking is done.
為了能懂英語口語,懂得如何連音是非常重要的。
Today let’s concentrate on the most common sound linking situation.
今天我們來關(guān)注最普通的連音情況。
Whenever a word ending in a consonant sound is followed by a word beginning with a vowel sound, the consonant sound is linked to the vowel sound as if they were part of the same word.
若以輔音結(jié)尾的單詞后面跟著以元音開頭的單詞,這個輔音就和后面的元音連在一起發(fā)音,如同這兩個音構(gòu)成了一個單詞。
Let’s look at some examples.
讓我們來看一些例子。
I’d like another bowl of rice, please.
我想再要一碗飯。
First, note that although there’re six words in the sentence, all the words are linked together without pause.
首先,注意下雖然這個句子里有六個單詞,但是所有的單詞都沒有停頓地連在一起。
Listen again.
再聽一遍。
I’d like another bowl of rice, please.
我想再要一碗飯。
Now listen to how the words “l(fā)ike” and “another” are linked.
現(xiàn)在聽下單詞 “l(fā)ike”和 “another”是如何連在一起的。
“Like another”, “l(fā)ike-another”. “Like” ends in a consonant sound, and “another” begins with a vowel sound.
單詞 “l(fā)ike” 是以輔音結(jié)束的,而單詞 “another” 是以元音開始的。
So the “k” from “l(fā)ike” is linked to the “a” from “another” to produce “kanother”.
因此,單詞 “l(fā)ike” 中的 “k” 和單詞 “another” 中的 “a” 連在一起發(fā) “kanother”.
Listen to the example sentence again.
再聽下這個例句。
I’d like another bowl of rice, please.
我想再要一碗飯。
In the sentence there is another example of a consonant being linked to a vowel.
在這個句子里有另外一個輔音與元音相連的例子。
A bowl of, a bowl-of. A bowl of, a bowl-of.
It sounds like that you’re saying the word “l(fā)ove”.
聽起來像在說單詞 “l(fā)ove”。
Here’s another example.
另外一個例子。
I’d love a bowl of rice.
我想要一碗飯。
This sound linking is probably the biggest problem for learners of English when they try to understand native speaker’s talking.
這個連音可能是英語學(xué)習(xí)者努力去弄懂以英語母語的人的話遇到的問題。
We’ll talk more about sound linking in future daily tips, as this is an extremely important feature of spoken English.
我們將在以后的日常小貼士中會學(xué)習(xí)更多關(guān)于連音的,因?yàn)檫@是口語中的一個很重要的特點(diǎn)。
Today’s tip is to link consonants to vowels which come after them. Till then, tomorrow, for another daily tip.
