Advances in Computer and Information Technology over the past few decades have brought about revolution in science, medicine, education, business, and entertainment. I wish to be part of the future revolution and that is why I want to study Computer Science. The idea of studying Computer Science came to me as soon as I started considering my career options: I have been around computers from an early age and have absorbed myself in them ever since. I am particularly interested in the integration of computing in music production (which I have a passion for), research into breakthrough technologies such as “Direct Note Access” has shown me the amazing possibilities that could be achieved with the right ideas and knowledge behind them. My interest in Computer Science comes from my view of it as a challenging and creative subject, I am particularly eager to study software engineering and computer graphics.
Studying ICT has enhanced both my knowledge and experience in the uses and applications of computer systems. For my AS coursework project I successfully developed an order processing system for a local business which gave me good experience in system analysis and development, including use of complex formulae, creation of macros and use of VBScript. I am currently leading the project to revamp my school’s website which has given me the opportunity to show off my self-taught web design skills and has also given me the chance to gain further experience working to an end user’s criteria and to develop leadership skills.
Mathematics has been my strongest subject for as long as I can remember. Due to my quick grasp of concepts within the subject I have been in advanced classes since primary school, continuing up to my A levels which has allowed me to have already passed 5 out of my 6 modules with a grade A in each. I have always found the subject interesting as it demands pure logic. My natural ability for logical thinking and problem solving has been strengthened through the study of this subject and the constant challenge of applying new methods and concepts.
Physics is yet another subject that demands logical thinking, while at the same time demands evidence and theory to back it up, providing application of maths aspects of the real world. My coursework investigating the deformation of solids enabled me to combine both my mathematical and research skills to help produce detailed analysis and evaluation to prove that the concept of Hooke’s Law was valid. I was particularly fascinated with the Waves Properties module as the theories on stationary waves and superposition explain a lot about how sound works.
My work experience with Futuretrend Technologies gave me a good insight on how IT based organisations work and the importance of IT within the business world. My employment with Blockbuster Inc. and volunteer work with Cancer Research have both given me the opportunity to interact with customers to provide a helpful service as part of a team, reinforcing both my communication and team working skills.
Being brought up in a household with a father of East-African Islamic culture and Christian-raised English mother, as well as living in multi-cultural areas and attending multi-cultural schools, I have had the pleasure of experiencing many different cultures and religions allowing me to develop a wide understanding and acceptance of lifestyle and belief of others which has also given me insight into global politics and history. I have various hobbies such as basketball, cycling and music. I enjoy listening to music, but even more I enjoy composing music, playing the piano and am currently teaching myself how to play the acoustic guitar.
Taking a persistent approach to all my work, I always strive for the best results and never turn away from a worthy challenge. I believe that my endless curiosity, infectious self motivation, and ability to work effectively as part of team would make me an ideal candidate for Computer Science.

瑞典留學(xué)學(xué)校介紹
一、隆德大學(xué)
是一所檢具歷史感和現(xiàn)代化的高等學(xué)府，在1666年就已經(jīng)建立，幾百年的發(fā)展足夠它將學(xué)院和專業(yè)進(jìn)行不斷地完善，提供的教學(xué)和研究都是非常優(yōu)質(zhì)的，能夠滿足學(xué)生的需求。
在最新的QS排名中位于第92名，而且排在歐洲的10之內(nèi)，在學(xué)生的滿意度調(diào)查中位于瑞典首位，專業(yè)的綜合實(shí)力基本上都可以排進(jìn)國(guó)家的前三名，綜合素質(zhì)是很高的。
二、哥德堡大學(xué)
同樣是綜合性的院校，學(xué)院設(shè)置有八個(gè)，專業(yè)接近60個(gè)，可以為留學(xué)生提供比較全面的選擇，而且在配套的設(shè)施和服務(wù)上也是比較齊全的，當(dāng)然申請(qǐng)的難度也不會(huì)小，需要認(rèn)真準(zhǔn)備。
在QS的綜合排名不算高，在200名左右，但是醫(yī)科相關(guān)學(xué)科也擁有很亮眼的表現(xiàn)，可以進(jìn)入到50的行列，名氣和實(shí)力是相匹配的，學(xué)醫(yī)的學(xué)生首選這所大學(xué)。
三、烏普薩拉大學(xué)
早在1477年就已經(jīng)成立，而且還是北歐的第一所高校，是作為奠基者而存在的院校，而且在教學(xué)上，更加重視理論的內(nèi)容一些，對(duì)科研的經(jīng)費(fèi)投入會(huì)更多一些，在成果上也是比較豐富的。
新的QS排在116名的位置，可見(jiàn)其實(shí)力的強(qiáng)勁，而且學(xué)校雖然建校時(shí)間長(zhǎng)，但是卻并不故步自封，始終堅(jiān)持更新?lián)Q代，并且重視新科技，大家在這里學(xué)習(xí)會(huì)有一個(gè)很好的開(kāi)放性氛圍。
四、斯德哥爾摩大學(xué)
是瑞典規(guī)模的學(xué)校，目前學(xué)生的數(shù)量超過(guò)了7萬(wàn)名，教職員工你在5000名以上，而師資隊(duì)伍中，不乏有世界知名的人才和泰斗，在科研方面也有很不錯(cuò)的表現(xiàn)。
不過(guò)學(xué)校在專業(yè)的表現(xiàn)上比較偏科，目前綜合排名在190名左右，人文和社會(huì)科學(xué)，以及法學(xué)卻能夠進(jìn)入到世界頂尖的位置，資源配置上也會(huì)相對(duì)要齊全一些。
瑞典留學(xué)高等教育體系介紹
一、院校分類
目前境內(nèi)一共只有40余所高等院校，基本上學(xué)歷都受到了國(guó)內(nèi)的認(rèn)可，大家如果時(shí)間比較充足的話，是可以都詳細(xì)的考察一遍的，這樣會(huì)更有利于大家做出適合自己的選擇。
其中綜合性院校會(huì)更受留學(xué)生青睞一些，斯大、烏大、哥大和隆德大學(xué)位列前茅;這里還有不少專科類的學(xué)院，提供專業(yè)化程度更高的教學(xué)，可以優(yōu)先考慮皇家工學(xué)院和斯德哥爾摩經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院。
二、學(xué)習(xí)階段
和國(guó)內(nèi)一樣，高等教育也是區(qū)分了三個(gè)階段，本科、碩士和博士，不過(guò)前兩個(gè)階段在瑞典有進(jìn)行合并，大部分學(xué)生都是進(jìn)行連讀的，而將博士的學(xué)習(xí)成為研究生教育，大家要提前了解。
入學(xué)之后學(xué)習(xí)三年，大家修夠了120個(gè)學(xué)分，就可以申請(qǐng)畢業(yè)，這時(shí)候獲取的是學(xué)士學(xué)位;入學(xué)之后學(xué)習(xí)四年，修夠了160個(gè)學(xué)分，可以獲取碩士學(xué)位;博士階段需要學(xué)習(xí)四年，修夠160個(gè)學(xué)分。
三、課程設(shè)置
基礎(chǔ)課程的學(xué)習(xí)會(huì)安排理論的內(nèi)容，是由老師來(lái)進(jìn)行授課，不過(guò)在形式上會(huì)比較多樣，會(huì)有大課也有小課堂，會(huì)設(shè)置課題報(bào)告、小組討論和展示等不同的形式，讓學(xué)生更好的參與進(jìn)學(xué)習(xí)。
而實(shí)踐實(shí)習(xí)的內(nèi)容也不會(huì)少，除了在假期會(huì)有實(shí)習(xí)的安排，在平時(shí)也會(huì)有相關(guān)的內(nèi)容，一般會(huì)進(jìn)行分組，小組內(nèi)確定課題，然后進(jìn)行實(shí)踐和實(shí)驗(yàn)，獲取一定的成果，導(dǎo)師會(huì)進(jìn)行驗(yàn)收。
四、考核方式
對(duì)學(xué)生的能力考核，不僅僅只局限在書(shū)面的考試上，還會(huì)對(duì)綜合能力進(jìn)行測(cè)試，這就出現(xiàn)了多種考核的方式，大家的重點(diǎn)應(yīng)該是對(duì)不同的方式進(jìn)行熟悉，并且確保自己能夠應(yīng)對(duì)。
