美國(guó)留學(xué)推薦信格式
信頭，就是說(shuō)你要用帶有自己學(xué)校標(biāo)志的信紙來(lái)寫，因?yàn)槟愕耐扑]人一般是自己學(xué)校的老師。我們的推薦信是自己打印的，你可以做好一個(gè)信頭放上去，如果你所在的系里有自己的信頭，就建議你使用自己系的標(biāo)志信頭，那樣更好。有時(shí)候
申請(qǐng)學(xué)校可能會(huì)要求，推薦信必須具有信頭，并且信頭不能是打印出來(lái)的，這時(shí)候你就得去學(xué)校的商店里買那種專用的帶有信頭的打印紙了。 在北大， 學(xué)校的博實(shí)商店就有賣這種紙的，
分紅色和藍(lán)色兩種顏色的信頭。
推薦信的稱呼可以用 Dear Sir/Madam，Dear Admission Officer，Dear Colleague(要求你的推薦人曾經(jīng)在所申請(qǐng)學(xué)校工作過(guò)) ，或者 To whom it may concerns等等。
聯(lián)系方式和日期寫在推薦信最上方，信頭之后，一般來(lái)說(shuō)是寫推薦人的聯(lián)系方式而不是對(duì)方學(xué)校的聯(lián)系方式。聯(lián)系方式在前，日期在后;聯(lián)系方式寫在左邊，日期寫在右邊。當(dāng)然這里的聯(lián)系方式也可以不寫，如果你在落款中已經(jīng)寫明了的話。抬頭和落款中只要有一處寫到聯(lián)系方式就行。寫聯(lián)系方式的時(shí)候，注意寫上推薦人的職務(wù)、職稱、電話以及 email。
正文也是按照標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的英文正式文體格式，每段頂格寫，段落之間空一行。
結(jié)尾的落款，首先是頂格寫一句敬稱，Yours sincerely 或者 Sincerely yours即可。然后寫上推薦人的聯(lián)系方式。下面給出一個(gè)最簡(jiǎn)單的例子：

注意，中間空了幾行就是為了留給教授簽名用的。教授的簽名是憑他自己的習(xí)慣，有時(shí)候姓在前，有時(shí)候名在前，所以你的 Professor XXX 中的名字一定要和簽名一致。至于這個(gè)簽名是英文還是中文，要看教授的習(xí)慣。一般要求用英文簽名，如果教授習(xí)慣用中文，那可以用中文。
至于整篇推薦信的字體，要求統(tǒng)一，不要使用不同的字體。因?yàn)槟阌腥馔扑]信要寫，所以你應(yīng)該盡量使用不同的信紙，字體，字號(hào)，頁(yè)邊距等等，盡量使得三封推薦信的樣式看起來(lái)各不相同。
要知道教授給你簽推薦信是一個(gè)很繁瑣的過(guò)程，一般來(lái)說(shuō)一封推薦信需要 3 個(gè)簽名：推薦信上一個(gè)，推薦表格上一個(gè)，信封上一個(gè);然后還要在推薦表上簽一個(gè)日期。你申請(qǐng)十幾個(gè)學(xué)校的話，教授就要簽 50 個(gè)左右的名字，是很累的。
如果你得到教授授權(quán)，可以自己代替教授簽名，那你就模仿教授的筆跡簽名好了，這樣即使對(duì)方學(xué)校有疑問(wèn)過(guò)來(lái)核實(shí)，由于教授給你授權(quán)了，學(xué)校也不會(huì)查出什么東西來(lái)。
有時(shí)候教授不愿意給你簽很多的名字，而且你經(jīng)常跑去找他簽名也不好，畢竟不能總?cè)ヂ闊┙淌?。這個(gè)時(shí)候你還是自己模仿好了，隨便拿幾封推薦信讓教授簽了，后面的你全部自己代筆模仿。一般來(lái)說(shuō)教授給你簽推薦信的時(shí)候，是不會(huì)看你的推薦信是用在哪個(gè)學(xué)校的申請(qǐng)上的，所以即便是對(duì)方學(xué)校覺(jué)得你的簽名不太對(duì)勁，來(lái)找教授核實(shí)，教授反正也不知道他的推薦信是用在哪些學(xué)校上面的，所以肯定回復(fù)說(shuō)這是我寫的。當(dāng)然如果碰上上面說(shuō)過(guò)的把推薦信連簽名都復(fù)印再寄過(guò)來(lái)的情況就沒(méi)辦法了，你就直接去和教授解釋一下吧。
至于出國(guó)留學(xué)推薦信的字?jǐn)?shù)嘛，沒(méi)有什么很嚴(yán)格的要求。只要你把話說(shuō)清楚了，把被推薦人的特點(diǎn)敘述的清晰明了，就是一封好的推薦信。有人說(shuō)推薦信一定要在一頁(yè)以內(nèi)，其實(shí)不必，一頁(yè)半的樣子都是可以的，只要你是真的有話要說(shuō)。你能寫得更短當(dāng)然更好，寫不短也沒(méi)有關(guān)系。不過(guò)也要注意，推薦信總長(zhǎng)度不要超過(guò)兩頁(yè)，否則真的沒(méi)人愿意看。

美國(guó)留學(xué)推薦信誤區(qū)
1..無(wú)數(shù)的推薦信都寫被推薦人上課時(shí)積極表達(dá)自己的觀點(diǎn)，下課后還繼續(xù)與教師討論學(xué)術(shù)問(wèn)題，但是談?wù)撌裁磫?wèn)題，卻總是沒(méi)有具體的例子。如：
In class, she was an active participant, often raising incisive questions and providing solutions to problems. We often discussed new and more efficient solutions to a problem. Always actively participating in class, asking perceptive and challenging questions.
2.很多同學(xué)找到自認(rèn)為很有價(jià)值的推薦人寫推薦信，但是他們以前并不相識(shí)或者熟悉，為了在信中制造一個(gè)他們相識(shí)的合理情況，他們都用同樣的事例：被推薦人參加了推薦人的一次講座，講座結(jié)束或中間休息或上課時(shí)，被推薦人向推薦人提出了一些很有挑戰(zhàn)性的問(wèn)題，于是推薦人就對(duì)被推薦人留下了深刻的印象。同上面的例子一樣，這樣的事例缺乏真實(shí)性。教授們?cè)谥v座結(jié)束后往往只有幾分鐘的時(shí)間回答很多同學(xué)的提問(wèn)，他不可能對(duì)某位同學(xué)留下特別的印象。即使是真實(shí)的，也因?yàn)樘嗟娜诉@么寫，失去了可信度。

4.語(yǔ)言太夸張，完全失去了說(shuō)服力。有的推薦信把被推薦人寫的比推薦人水平還高。讀完這樣的推薦信，外國(guó)教授不禁要想，既然這位同學(xué)的水平如此之高，他就不需要再進(jìn)修了。而且一般推薦人都為被推薦人的老師及上司，這樣寫也讓外國(guó)教授懷疑推薦人的水平。
In my numerous years of teaching experience rarely have I seen as talented or dedicated a student as Mr. Liu. I consider him my own source of inspiration.
5.為了表明被推薦人學(xué)習(xí)態(tài)度端正，推薦人喜歡在推薦信中舉例說(shuō)明：他總是坐在教室的第一排聽(tīng)講。這也不見(jiàn)得就是一種美德。坐在后面的同學(xué)都是不努力的嗎?
He would often sit within the first few rows, frequently raising questions and clarifying concepts that were unclear to him/I first became acquainted with Mr.Wang at my lecture, where he sat in the first row and impressed me with his full concentration and enthusiastic participation in class discussions.
6. 為了說(shuō)明被推薦人勤奮好學(xué)，推薦人經(jīng)常在推薦信中寫到這樣的事實(shí)：被推薦人總是要求推薦人推薦一些相關(guān)的書籍，或是被推薦人向推薦人借書看。這樣的事例太雷同了，缺乏獨(dú)特性。
To broaden his intellectual horizons, he has often asked me to introduce books and journals for him to read. Actually, he had borrowed so many books from my personal collection that he left quite a large part of my bookcase empty.
