雅思口語真題范文part2物品類:家中老物件范文一:
Some of the books which once owned and used by my grandfather are still kept with care in our house. My grandfather was a doctor and he kept his medical books and reference books with him. When he died, I was a 5 years old kid and can hardly remember things about him. But I heard that he was a great person and a first-class(一流的) doctor. Everyone in our locality revered (尊敬)him and respected him very much. After his death, my father took one of his used tables, an arm chair, and a big portrait(肖像) of my grand grand-father and some of my grandfather’s books as the remembrance of his memory. Among those things my grandfather’s medical books survived and are still reserved in our book-shelf.
These books would be more than 70-80 years old and we have those books in our shelf for the last 20 years. The caretakers sometimes bring out those books and clean those and finally put them in the shelf again. I once opened some of the books when I was a school boy and found almost everything very obscure(難以理解). Basically they are medical related terms and that's why seemed jargon to me.
My family has kept these books as the souvenir of my grandfather's memory. My father was very beloved by my grandfather and I am sure he esteemed(尊敬) my grandfather very much. These books are the only tangible(有形的) belongings my father has which were used by my grandfather and conveys my grandfather's reminiscences(回憶). Though these books do not have their material values but they are priceless(無價的) to our family and remind us the precious memory of our grandfather.

為什么對家庭來說很重要:這些書作為有形的存在,是對祖父的一種懷念。同時,書的內(nèi)容也很有價值,因此對于我們家來說是無價之寶。
雅思口語真題范文part2物品類:家中老物件范文二:
I bought an exquisite Murano glass figurine of Pegasus(穆拉諾人馬座玻璃小雕像) when I traveled in Venice.
It is about twelve inches high, really heavy and gorgeously-wrought sculpted (錯彩鏤金雕刻)glass with real gold spun through the wings, mane and tail. I fell in love with it when I saw it at the glass factory. It was said to be 50 years old and thus hideously(可怕地) expensive, but I rationalized (使合理化)that it would be my one souvenir from that first European trip. So I put it on my credit card and had it shipped to China.
My precious(珍貴的) artwork arrived a few weeks after I returned home. I unwrapped(打開)it and placed it carefully on a bookshelf in my new apartment. I stood and admired it, then went to open the blinds(百葉窗)so the sun could hit it, miscalculated(算錯) my reach and knocked Pegasus right onto my newly waxed hardwood floor.
Of course it broke, but not completely. That was the worst part. Both wings broke off and one front leg was shattered. But my mother thought it might be salvageable(可挽救的). She found a glass artist in Shanghai who did his best to repair it. And he did a fair job. But I could never see it the same way again. When I looked at it, I only saw how lovely it had been before my clumsiness(笨拙的)ruined it. It hurt to have broken Pegasus in my living room. So I packed it away.
I still have it. Five years later. I have never re-opened the box, but I can't bring myself to throw it away.
雅思口語真題范文part2物品類:家中老物件范文三:
An old thing that my family has kept for a long time is a vintage television. it’s now sitting on the top of the closet in my parents’ room.
Three times have we moved to a new house since i can remember, yet this tiny and old television always goes with us. Although we hardly use it for TVs with larger screen and more glamorous style is common and cheaper now, my parents still treasure it and dust it once in a while.
"It was the first thing my parents bought when they made quite a fortune by working day and night in their grocery store. In late 1980s, TV was still considered as a luxury, so being able to affort it gave them a sense of fulfillment. As for my sister and I, fighting for the remote controller to watch our favorite show was one of the most memorable things in our childhood.
This TV has witnessed almost every major changes in our family and contained loads of memories. Now with my sister and I always busy with our work, we don’t get much chance to go back home to visit our parents, not to mention sitting together watching TV programs after dinner as we used to. I guess the reason we think it’s so important is that it reminds us of a simpler but happier time.

? There are some old brass utensils and trunks and some articles of furniture like an old round wooden table, a chair and so on
? But here I would like to talk about an article which once belonged to my great great grandmother.
? It must be more than 150 years old.
? It is a beautiful set of gold jewellery
? It is a family heritage
? It has been handed down from generation to generation in my family
? It is a gold necklace with matching earrings
? My mother wears it on special family occasions
? Otherwise my father keeps it in a bank locker
? It is studded with rubies and emeralds
? You know, ma’am, the gold is so pure that it still shines like new.
? And the design is evergreen.
? Once my mother went to a goldsmith to get a similar set made for my aunt.
? But the goldsmith said that the design could not be replicated as it was hand-made.
? Now the sets available in the market are machine made.
? It goes with all types of dresses.
? My mother wears it with saris and suits.
? Whenever my mother wears it she gets a lot of compliments.

? As this set has rubies and emeralds which are red and green, so this set complemented the sari so much that mom was looking awesome.

Ok right then, well after a bit of thought, the object that I'd like to talk about is my piano, as it's probably the oldest thing we have in our family.
And as for how we first got it, well I'm honestly not that sure, because it's been in the family for as long as I can remember. ButIthink I'm right in saying that my grandparents bought it, although I never actually asked them. And they passed the piano down to me, because I'm the only one of their grandchildren who plays the piano, so I feel very fortunate and grateful to have it.
Anyway, regarding the importance of it, well, simply speaking, I'd say it's extremely important, at least for me personally, the main reason being that it has a very strong sentimental value to me. You know, whenever I play the piano, it reminds me of my grandparents, especially my grandma, who used to always play it and sing to me when I was little.
So it really means a lot to me, and although it doesn't sound as good as a lot of pianos, I wouldn't change it for any other! Because um, how can I put it……um… I guess what I'm trying to say is that, to me, it's more than just a piano, you know, it's kind of a memento and something to remember my grandparents by.
So yeah, that's pretty much it.
高分表達(dá)Notes:
Sentimental value - 情感價值
Anyway - (表示略去一些細(xì)節(jié)轉(zhuǎn)到下一個主要話題)總之 You use anyway or anyhow to indicate that you are missing out some details in a story and are passing on to the next main point or event.
how can I put it – 怎么說呢?
it's more than just a piano – 不僅僅是鋼琴
Memento - 遺物,紀(jì)念品,用以回憶的東西
So yeah, that's pretty much it. – 所以嗯,差不多就這些。
Other useful phrases:
There are a few scratches on it – 上面有些刮痕劃痕
I polish it quite a lot to keep it looking nice – 我經(jīng)常把它擦光……
