高中生英語(yǔ)作文例文一
Once, when I was a teenager, my father and I were standing in line to buy tickets for the circus. Finally, there was only one family between us and the ticket counter.
This family made a big impression on me. There were eight children, all probably under the age of 12. You could tell they didn't have a lot of money.
Their clothes were not expensive, but they were clean. The children were well-behaved, all of them standing in line, two-by-two behind their parents, holding hands. They were excitedly jabbering about the clowns, elephants, and other acts they would see that night.
One could sense they had never been to the circus before. It promised to be a highlight of their young lives. The father and mother were at the head of the pack, standing proud as could be.
The mother was holding her husband's hand, looking up at him as if to say, You're my knight in shining armor.
He was smiling and basking in pride, looking back at her as if to reply, You got that right.
The ticket lady asked the father how many tickets he wanted. He proudly responded, Please let me buy eight children's tickets and two adult tickets so I can take my family to the circus.
The ticket lady quoted the price. The man's wife let go of his hand, her head dropped, and his lip began to quiver. The father leaned a little closer and asked, How much did you say?
The ticket lady again quoted the price. The man didn't have enough money.
How was he supposed to turn and tell his eight kids that he didnt have enough money to take them to the circus? Seeing what was going on, my dad put his hand in his pocket, pulled out a bill and dropped it on the ground. (We were not wealthy in any sense of the word!)
高中生英語(yǔ)作文例文二
Today is day of resurrection day of Easter. With two girl friends, XJ, XY, I feasted my eyes on the beauty of a lonely dell in the south of Edinburgh- Duddingston in such an early spring day.
Walking from Nicolson street past Pollock hall, we found ourselves on a road beside the hills. The nameless small yellow flowers are noisily blooming all the way on the hills. The morning sun shined on us and a dog who was so old that he toddled behind his mistress gasping while walking. We strolled along and along for half an hour and reached the Duddingston kirk.
It is a small and very old kirk built in 12 century, standing beside the loch Duddingston, sleeping on the lap of the hills. Seen from afar, several grey solemn fountain buildings with sharp spirals on four corners are accompanied by the surrounding grey trees. A wall winded its way over the lake, which is rippling by the caressing breeze reflecting the light and shadow alternatively. Several snow swans soared over it and others roamed around. All around is serene, even more with a few warbles of birds, several joyful barks echoing in the crispy morning air.
高中生英語(yǔ)作文例文三
My hometown is in the southeast of Shandong, a seaside village.
It is a small village. There are about 600 people. Most of them are peasants. They mainly plant wheat, corn and cotton. Some of them often go fishing in the sea.
Great changes have taken place in the past ten years. Now the peasants here use tractors in their work. A lot of new buildings have appeared. Many families own fridges and some even have air-conditioners. In the evening they watch TV as the people in cities do.
There is a primary school in the village. Most of the peasants children are studying in college now.
I love my home town. I believe she will become more and more beautiful in the future.
