During the Spring and Autumn Period (春秋時(shí)期,770-476 BC), there lived a man named Hei Gung, who worked for the government of the kingdom of Ju. Hei Gung once secretly gave apiece of Ju's territory to the kingdom of Lu, in the hopes that Lu would take him in.
春秋時(shí)代，邾國(guó)有一個(gè)人，名字叫黑肱，為國(guó)家做事，他偷偷地把邾國(guó)一塊土地送給魯國(guó)，希望魯國(guó)收留他。
Thinking that no one knew what he had done, he very quietly moved to Lu, never dreaming that Lu would record this incident in great detail.

In the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a person called Kong Rong. He was very smart ever since he was a little boy. He had five older brothers and one younger brother.
東漢時(shí)候，有個(gè)叫孔融的人。他小時(shí)候很聰明，有五個(gè)哥哥，一個(gè)弟弟。
One day his father bought some pears, picking one of the largest and giving it to Kong Rongdeliberately. But Kong Rong shook his head and picked up the smallest one.
一天爸爸買了一些梨子，特意撿了一個(gè)最大的給孔融，孔融卻搖頭不要，拿了一個(gè)最小的梨。
His dad was very curious, and asked: “Why?”

Kong Rong said: “I am younger, so I should eat the smaller pear, and brothers should eat the bigger ones.”

Kong Rong said: “I am older than him, so I should leave the bigger one to my little brother.”
