The Popularity of Snatching Red Envelopes

Red envelopes have a long history in our country ,but the situation has dissimilated over timeas a consequence of snatching red envelopes during the Spring Festival this year.

There are always some controversial comments arising when something becomes popular.Snatching red envelopes is now being questioned by more and more people as well .Somepeople take it for granted that snatching red envelopes has damaged the Spring Festival thisyear .For instance ,they firmly believe that snatching red envelopes may keep us at a distancefrom our family .Meanwhile ,there are also other groups of people who hold a different point ofview ,they think that snatching red envelopes not only is a fantastic new idea but also drawstwo people closer .

Personally, my attitude for this matter is positive ,with reasons as follows .

Firstly ,snatching red envelopes enriched our Spring Festival rather than had a boring one .

Moreover ,the reason why Chinese people are crazy about snatching red envelopes is that we arewild about auspiciousness and excitement during the Spring Festival which can be achieved bysnatching red envelopes .

Lastly ,snatching red envelopes also brings us good luck and conveys the genuine wish that weare yearning for .What's more,it is a good way to increase the festival atmosphere .

To make a long story short ,snatching red envelopes is a light spot in this year .Think it over, though I do believe the original intention of this activity is not bad ,it has been twisted aswell .Even so ,we can't deny the positive aspect of snatching red envelopes ,only in this way canwe guard the pure emotion and our ambition in our mind .

E-red envelopes:For or Against

As a child,I am always crazy about receiving red envelopes during the Spring Festival.Thisyear,to my surprise,a large number of people including adults grabbed their own red envelopeson New Year’s Eve.As soon as the red envelopes matched with the Internet,it swept acrossChina quickly and became the hottest topic!

Needless to say,it is a fantastic activity.First and foremost,it is not only a good chance for us tocommunicate with others, but also keeps up our Chinese tradition.Because we might receivered envelopes from relatives, friends and someone else. One red envelope, one warm wish.Inaddition, this activity reflects development of technology and convenience it brings to us.Wecan give or receive red envelopes on the Internet instead of going out to visit people.Last butnot least,it is obvious that grabbing red envelopes attracted lots of people and made our lifecolorful especially during Spring Festival. In a word, the hit made this Spring Festival meaningfuland entertaining.

On the other hand, there is no denying that something terrible happened during the gala.Forinstance, some people’s bank balance decreased rapidly for no reason when grabbing redenvelopes. As for this, the government is supposed to take effective measures to purify theenvironment of the Internet,What’s more, some old people complained that their sons ordaughters only shook their phones the whole Eve without saying anything to them, which madethem upset. Also, there were many people burying themselves in red envelopes so that theydidn’t even have time to watch the Spring Festival Gala Evening. What a pity!

From my point of view,it is a fashion to grab red envelopes. In our daily life, modern technologydevelops quickly, which makes communications much easier for us.We Chinese should keep pacewith the times.Meanwhile,we ought to respect traditional customs.I believe grabbing redenvelopes on the Internet is perfect. Why don’t we do it?

  Dear Kim:

I feel so happy to hear that you are interested in the Chinese spring festival, which is one mostimportant symbol of Chinese culture. With my great honor, I am here sharing my knowledgeabout it with you.

The spring festival, also called Chinese New Year, enjoys a long history of over 4,000 years.Unlike other festivals, the Spring festival is a period of time, rather than a single day. It startsfrom the first day of a new year and ends on January 15th, , of course in the Chinese lunarcalendar. But people usually start to celebrate the Spring Festival on the day before the NewYear's Day, which is called "New Year's Eve", when all members of a family get together, have abig meal together(called Nian Ye Fan in Chinese) and watch the Spring Festival gala, indulgedin the especially warm and sweet atmosphere of reunion.

There are a variety of activities during the Spring festival, among which at least three deserveyour special attention. First, when the new year's first bell rings out the old year and rings inthe new, adults and children get out of the houses and light crackers and fireworks, whichdecorates the sky into a colorful and magnificent stage.

Then, on the morning of the New Year's Day, people get up very early to stick couplets, onwhich all good wished are presented. Meanwhile, the red color of the couplets adds much to thejoy of the splendid festival.

In addition, we have to visit our relatives from door to door as of the first day of the SpringFestival until the Lantern Festival, which is supposed to be a conclusion of the whole SpringFestival.

Kim, the short letter here surely fails me to give you a complete account of our Spring Festival.I sincerely hope, if possible, that you can come here in China to have a real experience aboutit.

  Best wishes!

  Yours,

  Li Hua

School is our second home, where we spend the majority of time living and learning. Therefore, a good school environment is the precondition for our health and growth.

However, I am sorry to have witnessed some improper behaviour among us students:scribbling and littering everywhere. Not only does it destroy our school environment, it is alsoa spoiler of the image of our school.

This issue is now crying out to be solved and it should be a common concern for the schooladministration, staff, and all the students. In my humble view, the school should place moredustbins around the set up specific rules against those rude practices. At the same time, students should be encouraged to develop good habits and enough awareness ofenvironment protection.

I hold a firm belief, with the joint effort of all people concerned, that our school will become amore enjoyable place in the near future. I am looking forward to a more tidy school, and a morebeautiful world.
