瑪麗:
Good morning, Michael. How are you this morning? 早上好.邁克爾.今天早上感覺怎么樣?
瓊斯:
I'm very well, thanks, Miss Mary. 很好.謝謝你?，旣惻?
瑪麗:
Good, good. This is Michael Jones, Mr. Brown. 好.這就好.布朗先生.這位是邁克爾·瓊斯.
瓊斯:

布朗:

How long have you been working here, Mr. Jones? 瓊斯先生.你在這里工作有多少年了?
瓊斯:

布朗:

Working for four hours at a stretch really makes me tired. Why can`t we have a break like many other companies? We need at least a tea break.
連續(xù)工作四小時(shí)確實(shí)令人疲勞.為什么我們不能象其他工司那樣可以休息一下呢?我們至少得有喝茶休息的時(shí)間吧。
莉莉:
Our boss is dead nuts on work. Keeping on working and making money is what he has in his mind. Nothing else.
我們的老板是一個(gè)工作狂.他滿腦子想的都是工作和錢.別的什么都沒有.
瑪麗:
But we workers need a rest.
但是我們員工需要休息.
莉莉:
Actually in some other companies they also have the exercise to the radio broadcast. We need relaxation once in a while and only in this way can we work efficiently.
實(shí)際上其他公司都有廣播操.我們有時(shí)需要放松一下.只有這樣才能更加有效地工作.
瑪麗:

You seem extra busy lately, working overtime and bringing work home.

貝拉:
Yes, I`m really very busy these days.

I`m concerned whether there are any problems at work.
我擔(dān)心你是不是工作上出了什么問題.
貝拉:
No, I`m just putting in these extra efforts for the appraisal in July.
沒有.我只是為了七月的考核而努力.
愛德華:
What`s there to worry about? Aren`t you always one of the apples of your boss`s eyes?
這有什么好擔(dān)心的.你不一直都是你們老板眼中的紅人嗎?
貝拉:
It`s different this time. We got a new boss last month. I don`t know how he`s going to appraise us or how he is going to decide on the wage increase.
這次不一樣.上個(gè)月上任了一個(gè)新老板.我都不知道他會(huì)怎么打考核成績.怎么決定今年的加薪幅度.
愛德華:
Doesn`t the company have any standard appraisal system?
難道公司沒有標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的評定制度嗎?
