本：您好，歡迎來到我們的節(jié)日。這里可以回答您關(guān)于英國生活和文化的問題。
Ben : Hello and welcome to our programme where we answer your questions about British life and culture.
塞利娜：我想知道從倫敦去謝菲爾德交通方便嗎?大約多長時(shí)間?我該怎么從倫敦去別的城市呢?
Selina: I want to know if it is very convenient to travel from London to Sheffield and how long will it take and how about traveling from London to other cities.
本：非常方便的。我是說倫敦和英國其他城市的交通網(wǎng)很發(fā)達(dá)，其中當(dāng)然包括謝菲爾德，走公路和鐵路都很方便。從倫敦到謝菲爾德時(shí)間大約是兩個(gè)半小時(shí)，旅途也很舒服。如果是走公路或是鐵路的話，最棒的一件事就是可以很大程度上欣賞到沿途的鄉(xiāng)村風(fēng)光。從倫敦到北方一路的鄉(xiāng)村景色都很美。
Ben : It's very convenient. I mean the links from London to many other cities around the country including Sheffield are very good, both by road but also by rail. Traveling from London to Sheffield takes about two and half hours, it's a fairly pleasant journey-and the great thing about traveling by rail and roads as well, to a certain extent is that you can see some of the great countryside that we have in this country, and there's some lovely countryside from London up towards the north of England.

Selina: Could you tell me something more about traveling by rall and roads around England?
塞利娜：你能多給我講點(diǎn)兒在英國坐火車和汽車旅行的事情嗎?
Ben: OK. London itself has some very large rail stations, including Charing Cross, which serves the south of England, Liverpool Street Station, and King's Cross, some big name rail stations. One of the great things recently about London is the move of Eurostar to St. Pancras, which means that it's now very easy for people from the continent to come into London and then go from London out, particularly to the north of the country and up into Scotland on some quite fast moving trains now, that means you can get to as far as Edinburgh in something like 4 hours. So it's quite easy to get around.
本：可以。倫敦本身有很多大型的火車站，其中就包括查林十字車站，位于英國的南方，還有利物浦街車站和國王車站，都是一些比較大的火車站。最近發(fā)生在倫敦的一個(gè)大事件就是開通了到圣潘克拉斯的歐洲之星列車，這就使得人們可以很方便地進(jìn)入或者離開倫敦，尤其是去北部地區(qū)，甚至有快車駛往蘇格蘭地區(qū)，也使得人們可以僅用4小時(shí)左右的時(shí)間就能抵達(dá)愛丁堡。這樣去旅行就簡單多了。

Selina: I have heard about the move of Eurostar. Could you give me more information about it?

Ben: No problem. Since the move of Eurostar to St. Pancras, it has become very easy for people from the continent to come into London and then continue to go out from London to other parts of the country.
本：沒問題。自從到達(dá)圣潘克拉斯火車站的歐洲之星開通以來，它已經(jīng)使得人們可以很方便地進(jìn)入或者離開倫敦。
Selina: What if I want to drive my own car there? Is that possible?
塞利娜：如果我想自駕車旅游呢?這樣可行嗎?
Ben: You can drive your own car or you can hire a car to go to many destinations and even places in Scotland are not really that far away either by car or by train. The transport and train infrastructure in Britain is among the best in the world.
本：你可以開著自己的汽車也可以租輛車去很多地方，甚至是去蘇格蘭地區(qū)都可以。不管是開車還是坐火車到蘇格蘭都不是很遠(yuǎn)。英國的交通和鐵路基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施可以說是世界上最好的。
Selina: After your introduction, I believe it is among the best in the world. The advanced domestic and intercontinental transport systems have brought more travelers to London for sightseeing.
