　　出租車的由來：1907年初春的一個(gè)夜晚，富家子弟亞倫同他的女友去紐約百老匯看歌劇。散場(chǎng)時(shí)，他去叫馬車，問車夫要多少錢?雖然離劇場(chǎng)只有半里路遠(yuǎn)，車夫竟然漫天要價(jià)，多出平時(shí)10倍的車錢。亞倫感到太離譜,就與車夫爭(zhēng)執(zhí)起來，結(jié)果被車夫打倒在地。亞倫傷好后，為報(bào)復(fù)馬車夫，就設(shè)想利用汽車來擠跨馬車。后來他請(qǐng)了一個(gè)修理鐘表的朋友設(shè)計(jì)了一個(gè)計(jì)程儀表，并且給出租車起名“Taxi-car”,這就是現(xiàn)在全世界通用的“Taxi”(的士)的來歷。1907年10月1日，“的士”首次出現(xiàn)在紐約的街頭。
