　　Good morning everyone! My name is Jie Lidi. Today, my topic is: “Confidence”.

　　As we all know, failure is the mother of success. But What I want to say is that success is the child of confidence. Without confidence, things can become negative and uncomfortable. I remember, during an English class, I wanted to make a sentence using the word "listen".

　　I should have said: "I listen to the Voice of America" but I was too nervous and said "I listen to the Noise of America". Everybody in the class laughed. Since then I wanted to train myself to be confident. Now, confidence makes me brave and courageous. Take this speech for example. I wanted to enter this competition, but I would feel very embarrassed if I made mistakes. Just then, I thought about my dream. My dream is to become a scientist when I grow up.

　　If I am not confident, how can I overcome difficulties I face? If I am not confident, how can I succeed in developing myself in the future? I will do it! Today, I am making a speech in public and I feel proud and confident!

　　I am sure, in the future, with confidence, I will go forward-always forward. Confidence will make my dreams come true!

　　大家好!我叫揭李迪。我演講的題目是：自信。

　　眾所周知，失敗是成功之母，而我卻要說(shuō)：成功是自信的孩子。沒(méi)有自信，做事會(huì)消極而不愉快。我至今仍然記得那天，在上英語(yǔ)課時(shí)，我用“listen”這個(gè)詞造句。

　　我本來(lái)想說(shuō)“我聽(tīng)美國(guó)之音節(jié)目”，但當(dāng)時(shí)我太緊張了，錯(cuò)說(shuō)成“我聽(tīng)美國(guó)噪音節(jié)目”。同學(xué)們都哈哈大笑。從此，我決心將自己鍛煉得自信些。現(xiàn)在，自信給了我勇氣，我變得勇敢了。就拿這次比賽來(lái)說(shuō)吧，當(dāng)初我想?yún)⒓舆@次比賽，但又怕說(shuō)錯(cuò)了尷尬。彷徨之間，我想到我的夢(mèng)想。我夢(mèng)想成為一名科學(xué)家。

　　于是，我對(duì)自己說(shuō)，如果我不自信，怎能克服即將面臨的困難呢?如果我不自信，將來(lái)怎能成功的拓展、完善自我呢?我決定參加這次英語(yǔ)風(fēng)采大賽!今天我在公眾面前做演講，我感到非常驕傲和自信!
