　　翻譯段落：

　　沒有一個人將小草叫“大力士”，但是它的力量之大，的確是世所罕見。這種力，是一般人看不見的生命力，只要生命存在，這種力就要顯現(xiàn)，上面的石塊，絲毫不足以阻擋，因?yàn)樗且环N“長期抗戰(zhàn)”的力，有彈性，能屈能伸的力，有韌性，不大目的不止的力。種子不落在肥土而落在瓦礫中，有生命力的種子決不會悲觀和嘆氣，因?yàn)橛辛俗枇Σ庞心ゾ殹Ｉ_始的一瞬間就帶了斗爭來的草，才是堅(jiān)韌的草，也只有這種草才可以傲然地對那些玻璃棚中養(yǎng)育著的盆花哄笑。

　　Though the little grass has never been said to be Herculean, the power it shows is matchless in the world. It is an invisible force of life. So long as there is life, the force will show itself. The rock above it is not heavy enough to prevent the seed from growing, because it is a force that keeps growing over a period of time, because it is an elastic force that can shrink and expand, because it is a tenacious force that will not stop growing until it is grown.The seed does not choose to fall on fertile land but in debris, instead. The seed with life is never pessimistic or sad, for it has undergone resistance and pressure. The grass that begins to fight its way out right after its birth is strong and tenacious, and only that grass has the right to smile with pride at the potted plants in glassed green houses.

　　翻譯點(diǎn)評：

　　Herculean：大力神,古希臘神話人物，如果想不到的話可以用比較口語的beefcake或者masculined guy。不過大家還是要注意，多積累一些這樣的文化、文學(xué)類知識儲備，以便在翻譯時能做到信手拈來，傳神出彩。

　　matchless一句：這句話的翻譯使用了逆向思維，這在英語中很常見，比如：

　　這事決不可能是他干的。

　　應(yīng)譯成He is the last person to do such a thing.

　　elastic force：彈力，不會的同學(xué)亦可譯成spring force/bounce，實(shí)在不會，可以換成strength，當(dāng)然這就要失分了。

　　tenacious：持久的，也可換成ever-lasting或者long-lasting。一般像這樣簡單的合成詞在翻譯中往往能派上大用場。

　　debris：注意，末尾的s是不發(fā)音的，但是拼寫的時候千萬不要漏掉。

　　potted plants：盆栽。一些普通的日常生活中的名詞，大家可能會忽略，翻譯中遇到時才恍然發(fā)現(xiàn)不會表達(dá)。這一類詞語要多加注意，不要只將注意力集中在專業(yè)名詞上面。

　　生存在功利社會，奔波勞頓，勾心斗角，若想做到從心所欲，難矣哉!人自孩提時代起，求學(xué)、謀職、戀愛、成家、立業(yè)、功名、財(cái)富……幾乎無時不在追求，而且總也不能滿足。當(dāng)然事業(yè)上的進(jìn)取與物欲上的貪婪，是兩種截然不同的人生觀，或可說是兩種迥異的苦樂觀。但有一點(diǎn)是共同的，即人生的道路并非平坦的康莊大道，事物的發(fā)展往往不以人的意志為轉(zhuǎn)移。與其陶醉在“夢想成真”的幻覺中，莫若在實(shí)踐中多多磨礪自己，有道是“蒼天不負(fù)有心人”嘛!即或如此，也未必事事天遂人愿?？傊凶非蟊赜袩?，這就是生活的實(shí)際。

　　In a business society, where people run about in pursuit of personal gains at the expense of others, it is really difficult to do as you please. Ever since childhood we have been pursuing always; going to school, looking for a job, falling in love, getting married, and striving for success in career and accumulating wealth, but never have we seemed to be contented with ourselves. However, striving for success in career and seeking material profits are two different outlooks or, if you will, two intrinsically different views on what is hardship and what is happiness. But there is one thing that applies in either case, i.e. life is no plain sailing, and things go and grow independent of man’s will. One should instead of indulging in delusions of daydreaming, temper himself in life, as the saying goes, “Heaven does not let down the one that has a will.” Even so, one cannot expect to succeed in everything he undertakes. In short, anyone in pursuit of something is sure to be troubled by something else, and that is the way things are in life.

　　翻譯點(diǎn)評：

　　四處奔波：run about來

　　追逐：in pursuit of，或者直接用動詞pursue

　　本質(zhì)地：intrinsically。如果不知道intrinsic(固有的，本質(zhì)的，內(nèi)在的)這個詞，可以用basically、fundamentally這一類的詞。也可以用其他方法來表達(dá)原文中“迥異”這個概念，如：as different as night and day，或者用diametrically，這個詞詞根是diameter,直徑。當(dāng)然，想不起來這么多，用一個totally也可以表達(dá)出這種例子。大家可以注意多積累一些這樣的同義詞。

　　康莊大道：這里以“一帆風(fēng)順”的意思來翻譯：plain sailing，或者用其他意譯方法，表達(dá)出“順利”“沒有挫折”之類的意思都可以。

　　幻覺：delusion。這個詞與illusion的區(qū)別在于，illusion僅表示“幻覺，錯覺，幻想”，delusion則有“受騙，騙局;妄想癥”的含義，用來表達(dá)這里的“幻覺”一詞，更有“欺騙性的，不真實(shí)的”這種意味。
