Born on September 10, 1963, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, Ma Yun is the founder and Chairman of Alibaba Group and was recognized as the richest person in China in 2014. At an early age, Ma developed a desire to learn English so he rode his bike for 45 minutes each morning in order to go to a nearby hotel and chat with foreigners there.
