There are many ways to find a job. It can be as easy as walking into a neighborhood store to look at its announcement(通告) board. Local stores often h ave areas where people can put small signs telling what kind of service they need or can provide. Such services include caring for children or cleaning houses.
Or, job searchers can look in the newspaper. Local newspapers have employment announcements placed by companies seeking(尋找) workers.
Another popular tool for finding jobs is the Internet. For example, people in four hundred and fifty cities around the world can use the Craigslist(網(wǎng)站名)Web site to buy objects, meet people or find a job. Craigslist says that it receives two million new job listings each month.
Another useful way to find a job is through a c ollege or university. For example, students at the University of Texas in Austin(奧斯丁 (美國得克薩斯州首府)) can go to the Career Exploration Center to get help in finding a job. Of course, looking for a job requires knowing what kind of work you want to do. For example, there is a book called “What Color is Your Parachute (降落傘)?” by Richa rd Bolles. This book has been helping people choose a career (職業(yè)) since it was first published in nineteen seventy.
Some experts(專家) also help people find jobs. Susan W. Miller owns a company called California Career Services in Los Angeles. When someone has deeply hurt you, it can be very difficult to let go of your anger. But forgiveness is possible - and it can be surprisingly helpful to your physical and mental health. Indeed, research has shown that people who forgive have more energy, better appetite (胃口) and better sleep. “People who forgive show less anger and more hopefulness,” says Dr. Frederic Luskin, who wrote the book Forgive for Good. “So it can help save on the wear and tear(消耗) on our body and make people feel more energetic.”
So when someone has hurt you, calm down first. Take plenty of breath deeply and think of something that gives you pleasure: a beautiful scene in nature, someone you love. Don’t wait for an apology(道歉). “Many times the person who hurt you may never think of apologizing,” says Dr. Luskin. “They may have wanted to hurt you or they just don’t see things the same way. So if you wait for people to apologize, you could be waiting a very long time.” Keep in mind that forgiveness does not necessarily mean accepting the action of the person who makes you angry. Mentally going over your hurt gives power to the person who brought you pain. Instead, learn to look for the love, beauty and kindness around you. Finally, try to see things from the other person’s perspective(視角). You may realize that he or she was acting out of ignorance (無知), fear, even love. To achieve the perspective, you may write a letter to yourself from that person’s point of view.
( )41. When someone has deeply hurt you, it’s not easy for you to ________.
A. feel very angry B. let go of your anger
C. keep remembering it D. let your anger appear
( )42. What will you do first when someone has hurt you?
A. Take much breath deeply. B. See things in a different way.
C. Keep yourself calm. D. Go over your hurt.
( )43. According to the writer, what is the right way to calm down after being hurt?
A. Try to make sure why you get hurt.
B. Write a letter to the person who hurt you.
C. Tell yourself to accept what others have done to you.
D. Think about pleasant things and forget about the hurt.
( )44. Dr. Luskin advises us not to wait for an apology after being hurt because ______.
A. we are not patient enough
B. we’d feel worse accepting others’ apology
C. people seldom want to apologize
D. people don’ t mean it when they apologize
( )45. This passage is mainly written to explain _______.

七、閱讀與回答問題(本題共5小題;每小題2分,滿分10分)
請認(rèn)真閱讀下面短文,并根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答問題。
Have you heard about “Survival (生存)Holidays”? “Survival Holidays” is for children to go into the lonely place for exciting activities. Now about 1,100 companies are allowed to take children into the great outdoors without their parents.
The reason why people like “Survival Holidays” is that they think being close to nature is good for children. Many children in big cities spend all time watching TV and playing computer games. “Survival Holidays” gives them an important change.
Is “Survival Holidays” a wonderful idea? Maybe it is. Children need more free time to play. They need to be left on their own, without adults disturbing(打擾) them. Parents care too much about their children. They like to see the children being busy with activities that are controlled by adults, but children don’t know what to do when they are in danger. Even something like crossing a small river seems to be a hard challenge. Children are not comfortable with danger. Even small danger like getting their feet wet or falling down seems very terrible to them.
Many people think the survival activities are good for children. Even years later, they will still remember what they have learned. Some have learned to stay calm in different times. Some have learned how to keep safe. Others have learned how to work in a team. All these skills will help them a lot in their lives.

Doing Our Part
We have grown up and it’s time for us to do something for our family and society.
At home, we should help our parents do the housework. They go to work during the daytime and they must be tired after a full day’s work. We do the housework in order to let them have a rest. We should also talk with them more. It can help us understand each other better.
In society, do not throw rubbish everywhere. We should throw it into the dustbin. It can make our environment more beautiful. Don’t use plastic bags when going shopping. We’d better use shopping baskets. If we use them too often, it will become white pollution.
