這篇課文講的是曹操的兒子曹沖小時候稱象的故事。小小年紀的曹沖想出了用船代替大秤，用石塊和大象的同等重量簡單地稱出了大象的重量。由此可見，曹沖善于觀察，善于動腦，真是個聰明的孩子。
低年級的學生喜歡聽故事，愛動手，好奇心強。教學中我充分引導學生在掌握字詞，熟讀課文的基礎上，進行充分的討論交流，拓展學生思維的空間。
教學這一課時，我設計讓學生讀書提出問題，再沿著學生的問題來組織教學，學生先默讀課文，問：“你有什么總是嗎?”學生在充分讀書的基礎上，提出了很多問題：“曹操為什么要稱象?，官員們用什么辦法來稱象?曹沖用的是什么辦法?還有沒有更好的辦法?”然后老師梳理學生的問題，調整自己的教法，循著學生的問題安排教學思路，逐個解答學生的問題。
